VOLUNTEER

Now that we are re-opening and our calendar is filling up with lots of activities for our seniors in Stone County, volunteers are needed now more than ever!

Here is a Current List of Volunteers Needed:

Greeter: Don’t know anyone? Want to get to know everyone?  Come assist people with signing in for center activities.

Drivers: Pick up pre-packaged meals weekly or biweekly at the Center and deliver to set seniors on a route.  Currently we drop them off on the seniors porch and call them so that it is a no-contact event.  Log your delivery and your mileage on a form and return it to the center.  Mileage reimbursement available OR you can just donate the miles.

In-Center meal distributor: This is at the center 11 am to 1 pm on any given week day (can be weekly or intermittently as available) watching for seniors to drive up, handing out meals, and logging names of those who have picked up.  There is minor contact involved with this and masks and gloves are required.

Telephone Reassurance Volunteers: This is from the comfort of your own home and on your own time frame.   Can be done by any adult, young or old.  You will be given a list of 10 names (more if you want) and you will call them weekly just to check on them and see what is going on.  You then log your calls and any comments and deliver, email or fax your logs to the center weekly.

Kitchen Volunteers: Assist in making and packing meals for our homebound and drive-up clients.  Can be done weekly or on an as-needed basis.
